COMMITMENT
Mike has demonstrated his commitment to the Oneida County community and to justice for all citizens throughout his legal career.
Unlike other attorneys, a district attorney does not simply advocate on behalf of their client — a prosecutor’s duty is not solely to win convictions, but to do justice. As District Attorney, Mike focuses on the needs of law enforcement and the victims of crime and the greater interests of justice for the public as a whole.
In private practice, Mike served the needs of clients outside the criminal justice system, including businesses, insurance companies, local government units, and ordinary citizens. Criminal cases may receive the most attention in the media, but Mike believes that all people involved in real estate disputes, divorces, obtaining permits, and anyone else who might find themselves in the court system deserve a fair hearing.
As a public defender, Mike advocated for clients while working effectively with prosecutors, law enforcement officers, social workers and judges.
As Circuit Court Judge, Mike would ensure that all citizens in all legal situations receive a fair hearing in court for years to come.
